Alright, so the SL is lighter but the LT "breathes better" some think the E-vent breathes better than all and now there is this Dri-1 material from Norrona. Im from florida and work outside (cable guy)in the rain and heat. Before I drop this kind of duckets I gotta know which material will keep me the coolest? I do backpack quite a bit with my wife so im looking to stay under 16ishOzs. (unless one of these have an AC in it) preesh

Want you want are some Frogg Toggs. Nothing matches its combination of breathability and water resistance. I've worn it all. It's only downside is its durability. They are also only about $60. The best 60 bucks you will ever spend.

the e-Vent breathes better initially, but this quality degrades quickly and will be less breathable than Pro-shell after the first year. If you're going for a long-term purchase, the Alpha LT is a tough jacket, and really light.

Second on eVent. Look at the Rab Latok, or something from Westcomb. I don't think you can beat the Rab jackets for value though.
