How does this jacket perform in the really windy rain?? I need something that is both a windbreaker and rain jacket

A gortex jacket works just as well but it is more expensive and is too insulative making you sweat more. This is the best light weight jacket

El Jeffe - The Venture jacket is 100% waterproof and windproof. It is also highly breathable. I don't know that Gore-Tex will necessarily work any better- although the Gore membrane would probably last longer than the HyVent DT coating. Hope this helps-

I think it will work well,but you may have to upgrade to gore-tex for the best performance....
