I will be spending a few weeks backpacking in Europe after a May term class in Greece. I will have a 60M rope, draws, a couple harnesses, clothes, laptop, camera, etc. Anybody think this isn't the right pack?

No. Go lighter. This pack is 6 lbs. Check out the JanSport Big Bear packs or Golite Odyssey. They are 3 lbs lighter with the same if not more capacity. The Jansport packs are great for the price.
