The Critical Mass has a DWR coating and is designed to perform well in the rain as a commuter bag. There's a gusset where the strap attaches to the bag and the main flap overlaps there, which is designed to keep rain out. I'd feel pretty confident riding in the rain with my laptop and other stuff inside the Critical Mass.

Its 100% recycled polyester so prob not waterproof. You could apply a waterproofer to it to increase the amount of water resistance..but I wouldn't recommend riding with this baby in a downpour.
