Is this a good jacket for Layer'ing? Headed up Kili in a couple of months. Need something good as a a shell. Would you recommend?

Yes I would recomend this jacket. It is a true hard shell which will add minimal warmth, but maximum protection from wind and rain. It is designed to be worn over layers based on the conditions.
