The photo of the pewter color looks like a different pad. Are there actually any differences other than color? most importantly, is the hinge joint angled like the copper?

Michael, I believe the picture of the pewter crash pad is just taken from the other direction. If you look closely, you can see the more heavily curved side is on the far end of the copper picture, but on the close side of the pewter picture. Or in other words, yeah they're the same.
