A buddy has a new Pulse Barryvox beacon, he suggested I find out if the the beacon in this package has the latest software/firmware updates.

On the inside of the battery cover this info is available: 457 kHz, IC 6628A.

Any insight on that would be welcome, if the beacon is up to date I'm ready to buy.
