It says these are water-resistant - does that mean they can be worn for skiing on not too wet/snowy days?

so, i bought these - i went downhill skiing in them, and they were relatively okay - i fell a couple times, and didnt get wet. however, the trouble was that they were SUUUPER thin for skiing pants. i had to wear two layers underneath (one was fleece) and was still cold. they're thinner than jeans - just a light pant. i would not recommend them for snow sports for this reason only. also, they run a little short if you have longer legs. mine are long, not suuuuper long, but long. they gave me the same problem that all other regular/err-on-the-side-of-less-length pants do.

they have a great DWR on them, so backcountry skiing is great. in bounds, they may breathe too well! great for hiking, climbing, and backpacking, and adventure travel...
