Just wondering if this coat will stand up to a rough and tumble...

Just wondering if this coat will stand up to a rough and tumble 7 year old boy - I worry that the nylon might rip easily?? Is the fabric a little tougher than the adult version of this coat?

Wish the adult version was made of the same thicker material. Sure kids are rough on clothes, but I think the the kinds of activities I participate in (climbing, backcountry hiking, etc.) can be just as rough on clothes. The fact that it's not is making me look at other similar jackets. A shame because I like it otherwise.

Donna. 30D Nylon is a reasonably tough shell fabric that is used throughout the industry as a shell fabric by many brands. It is tougher than what we use on the adult version of the Compressor which is 15D to handle just that rough and tumble use. Could your boy rip the nylon? Sure. But, that would be the case with anything made of a similar fabric. Hope this info helps!
