I'm looking to replace my Arctis Expes and I have two questions.

1. compared to the Spantik how does the durability compare. I have heard that the Spantik has sacrificed a little durability for weight/performance and frankly I slog a whole lot more than I climb.

2. Is there a warmth difference with the Spantik? I live and climb in interior Alaska, not big peaks but almost always cold peaks so warmth is paramount.

Warmth and weight wise these two boots are almost identical- but in my opinion, the Baruntse is a slightly better slogger as the upper is not as stiff as the Spantik. Neither are built to slog so much, but I end up doing a fair share of long approaches- and have done so wearing both models at different times- without too much discomfort. The La Sportiva rep says the Baruntse is more durable. I would agree.
