Found this on a competitors site for you: "I own a 2007 Jeep Wrangler and it does not fit with the swing away spare tire. Not only is the hitch insert too short, it is recommended not to be used with a hitch extender. Even if you decide to use a hitch extender, you still would not be able to open the swing away tailgate as the spare tire will also hit the top of the rack when extended. Thule fits fine and exchanged for the Thule Swing Away. Be careful with any swing away spare tire or tailgate." (the '07 body is the same as yours)I hope that helps!
