I too debated this very thing. My brother just bought the Burton operator, my friend has the Hero. The other day we went ridin and all switched boards. I live in the north east where conditions are less than ideal. After riding both boards, and gettin back on this board, there was no question that this board was far superior. ESPECIALLY the magne-traction. Definetely takes a little getting used to, at least for me because I downsized a bit to 152 being I ride mostly park. Magne-traction FTW!

go with the SK8 naner! X8 is a GREAT board but you'll also need to buy EST bindings to put the Burton ICS system to use. (imo, if you use reg bindings with ICS it's a waste on the board...) I've owned 08-09 Naner it's a great board and you won't be disappointed! I'm currently riding 09-10 Custom V, 57 Joystick and 57 TRS BTX. Burton boards are great and the bases are fast and durable on them but Mag is an absolutely amazing invention!!! go with the naner!

I take it you guys own skate bananas since your opinions seem almost biased. I currently have a TRS so I know the magne traction works well. Just never owned or rode burton X8 to base my decision off of.

Skate Banana!!!!!! Great park and all around board!!!! It also has Magne Traction which the burton doesn't... You can detune the heck out of it and it will still hold an edge better than the Burton!

The Skate Banana all the way! This board can rip it in the park, and when it dumps, it is also a great board in pow. Superb all around snowboard
