how are these for long distance AT backpacking, with pack weight around 25 lbs? I've used these and the Vasque Breeze VST-GTX boots in the past, like both of them, but a little concerned about long distance backpacking wih the Velocity VSTGTX

I'd agree with DakkaGuru. I almost always hike and backpack in AT shoes, against the recommendation of most outfitters, but I don't have pronation issues, and walk fairly neutrally. Depending on the terrain also, ie tundra etc, you may want something with ankle support anyways.

Seems like the Vasque fit works for you, I think 25lbs.. is totally doable in these, 35lbs+ would warrant another shoe. If you tend to pronate/suppenate, I'd stick with your boots, especially with weight on your back. But these are built on a stable platform, I say do it.
