I'm getting ready to purchase a beacon. Am trying to get some advice on the DTS vs Tracker2. I understand the differences in capability. I'm wondering if I should spend the extra money now because it's going to be "THE" beacon of choice in a couple of years anyway. Thoughts

Now that the Tracker2 is finally available, I would go ahead and pay the extra money ($45 more than the Tracker DTS). The Tracker2 is an incredibly fast and easy-to-use beacon and it has basically the same receive range as the Pieps DSP, which will cost you a lot more than $335.

If you sold on a BCA get the Tracker 2 it is a GREAT transceiver.... BUT the Pieps DSP Smart Transmitter is a much better transceiver, it has a farther range and is just as simple to use... I can tell you from personal use that the DTS has a horrible range and if I had a choice all my touring partners would wear a Pieps...
