Would this be a durable enought bivy for 4 season mountaineering? I'm not really familar with the differences in fabrics used but want one that is tough enough for all terrain and weather.

Yes it would be durable enough , poles are a little tricky on the hood so I would practice at home setting it up before you go for it with cold hands. The Event fabric is awesome very breatahble very waterproof.
