To add , I would wash with Nikwax tech wash only this will not ruin the laminate . http://www.backcountry.com/outdoorgear/Nikwax-Tech-Wash/NIK0018M.html Washing alos tends to dry the leather out Hestra does sell leather Balm as well this will recontion the palms and make them feel like new again. Dry at room temp.

you can wash them, you just need to make sure they dry -preferably with a low temp dryer (a boot dryer will work well). after you wash them, you can treat them with a silicone based water repellant spray to rejuvenate their beading properties. be careful to use a very mild soap/detergent, or none at all.
