Hi, Has anyone else come across problems with this boot when using it with Dynaft bindings (FT 12) ? It appears that the rigidity of the boot/sole and the actual flat shape of the sole (compared to many other "freetour" boots which have more of a rocker shape) causes the arms on the front part of the binding to pre-release, i.e. the toe of the boot presses down on the arms and forces them to open.

This tends to happen when ski-ing on hard/steep terrain and when side-stepping uphill.

I have had the problem you describe with my left boot only. I had a pre release that I attributed to ice in the toe socket. Cleared it then later had a yard sale wipe out when I lost a ski on a steep decent. Again I attributed it to icing. When my left ski kept pre releasing I checked it repeatedly by changing skis and the problem persisted only on the left. I have three pairs of skis all mounted with Dynafits and they all release intermittently on the left. I doubt six skis all have misaligned mounts. I can look down and see the arms open when I apply torsional stress, such as turning or side hilling on hard snow. It only happens sometimes and regardless of ice or snow build up. I am going to go back to the shop I bought the Titans from and request a replacement toe block.

I really hate to tell you but that is a telltale sign of a mismounted FT12. I run the FT12 with this boot and I was out trying hard to make it prerelease this weekend - never did even after some big hucks and fast moguls (which I thought were supposed to make it pop). If the binding isn't mounted perfectly, you'll get exactly the pre-release that you're talking about here so I'd return to the place you got them mounted or another shop with a jig and have someone take a look.

I'd have a hard time believing that Dynafit boots were incompatible or causing problems with Dynafit bindings. The soles on these are rockered and specifically built to be compatible with Dynafit bindings. Have you tried other Dynafit-compatible boots in your bindings?
