I demoed this boot yesterday, and really liked it. I am used to a really flexible boot (older Gara), and so it took a lot of getting used to. I ended up skiing it in "walk" mode, as I couldn't even flex it in "ski" mode. This boot really improved my skiing, and supported me a lot more than my old one. I think I want to buy it... but am unsure as to how it will break in. Will it become more flexible the more I ski in it? Any advice is appreciated. I'll be doing mostly resort/patrolling in it, with the occasional backcountry trip. Thanks!

The Garmont boots seem to fit my feet better than the Scarpas, so I'm going to go with this boot. I appreciate the advice, thank you!

I think that Garmont boots will wear down, and 'break in' after much use. They do not hold up as well as Scarpas. Also, as you get used a stiffer boot, you will work new muscles, and eventually, you will feel better skiing with the new boot. Your skiing will definitely improve, and you will be stronger. I know what a change it is to go from soft boots to stiff ones! My advice is to get a stiff T1 Lady boot, and charge hard! If you are looking to improve your skills, and charge harder, you will not regret the switch to a bigger, stiffer boot. Enjoy, EMH! Also, did you solve your dilemma with the climbing wires? Gave an answer to your Q but didn't get a helpful vote. Just checking. Happy turns!
