I would like to know others take on the sizing of these boots. I wear US 11.5 street shoes and fit very well into 46 LaSportiva Spantiks that I have. I tried on a US 12 size Mountain Expert GTX boot in a store with just normal socks, but felt that the boot was pushing hard on the top of my foot in the toes area. Loosening the lower laces did not seem to correct this. Has anyone else had this problem?

This is a slighly lower volume boot than the Scarpa. In the Scarpa Summits there is a toungue pad/ liner that can be removed allowing for thicker socks/ higher volume feet. In these there is no such luck. Sounds like you have a higher volume foot, since the Spatnik is designed to be higher volume than other sportivas for its use/purpose? Try the Scarpa Summits or the triolets. They have a little more clearance over the top of the foot than these. Also, the insole hasn't been broken in/ compressed. If the pressure is light but not uncomfortable it may dissipate with wear, or with a thinner insole. Also, if you tried them on in the afternoon one's feet tend to be more swollen then than in the morning. Try them on again with the socks you'll be wearing at a different time of day. It may make a difference. I tried boots on at least 3-4 times at different times before deciding.-FYI-I also wear an 11.5 street shoe and fit into these true to size (see my post march 9, 2009)
