I will be moving from the tropics to Washington DC metropolitan area (NoVA). Was wondering if this Jacket would be good enough for the "worst days"? I don't have much experience with the winter, the coldest I've seen was 27 F in NYC. I'm a bit worried that using a coat of wool or wool blend with layers wont be effective for windy days/really cold days. At the same time, "how warm" is this coat?

Honestly, you are going to want something warmer for DC, unless you used this under your wool coat. Then it should keep you warm. Stoic wool layers work wonders in the cold.
