I am looking into getting cross country skiis, boots and poles. I love sports and would be using these to trek through parks for fitness mostly. Dont want to go crazy on money but want something that will stand up to my exercising and once in awhile/trip to the mountains.

If you'll be cutting your own trails, make sure you get a rugged boot like this one. It'll be heavier, but it'll keep your feet dry. If the parks have groomed trails, you could get a sleeker, lighter boot. You'll also want to figure out if you'll do classic or skate skiing, as that will affect boot type, ski type and length, and pole length. There are lots of reasonably priced options available for those getting into nordic skiing. Best of luck to you!
