I'm assuming this jacket destroys the guides down jacket....true? I'm rolling with a stupid Nuptse jacket which is soon to be owned by my nephew. I live here in the greatest state Montana, but might spend some time in AK, so I'm looking to upgrade without looking like a trusty loser from back east, and I love Marmot's gear. I have a ton of their other gear, so after I looked at everything I think this might be a good middle-of-the road down coat, even though it's a 650.....any thoughts?

this jacketis definitely more comfortable than the nuptse.it fits well,and is quite warm.the loft is excellent(except the arms,but still adequate),and the powder skirt makes the fit. i usually go with XL, but went with the Large in this one.W/out the hood its cool beans casual. I'm 6' 195 athletic build(boy been saying that alot) and went with Large. Nuptse is the go to that evryone has,this one is the one you love to wear to play in the snow.

I have a nuptsie jacket that i bought ten years ago ,It"s a great jacket,but this jacket blows it away. I live in colorado and this jacket will be fine anywhere,I have a marmot jacket i bought in 1990 and still looks great. Thats why it has a life time warranty.This jacket feels so good.I would highly recomend this jacket,I also bought the jacket late november,It came on sale.And no questions ask they gave me the sale price,$220.00.I got a steal.Back country is no dought the best site for marmot gear,650 down feel wiil be just fine,also when you get a down jacket put in the dryer on COOL CYCLE with a clean tennis shoe.Bounce it for about thirty minutes,This will fluff it out nice.I do mine as needed.Good luck Tony
