How does this compare to the Giga Power? I know it's new, but it seems like the few minor flaws of the giga have been debugged in the micro max. Am I right?

The most important difference is heat output. The Giga Stove is rated @ 10,000 BTU's & the Micro Max is 11,200. I'm not aware of any minor flaws in the Giga Stove. I do know that the new LiteMax is a combination of the two. It's lighter than both & develops 11,200 BTU's. It does not, however, have an auto igniter. http://www.backcountry.com/store/SNO0041/Snow-Peak-LiteMax-Stove.html
