is 60g. of insulation going to be warming in 0* weather ? i live in vermont and dont want to buy a coat if its not going to hold up to the cold.

Hi Noah - 60 grams is a pretty light insulation package for really cold weather. I would recommend looking at jackets that are either down insulated or have at least 100 grams of synthetic insulation. Here are a couple of suggestions: Down Insulated: The North Face Tempest Down or Helicity Jackets Synthetic Insulation: The North Face Boufet or Plasma Thermal Jackets The down insulated jackets will be the way to go for super cold conditions.
