Does the shovel blade on this thing detach or does it just fold...

Does the shovel blade on this thing detach or does it just fold down? It looks like it separates from the last detail view on the right, but i'm not sure. I really need a shovel that will separate from the handle so i can put it in my pack. Anyone know? Help would be appreciated....=)

Ortovox shovel handles detach by depressing the button/stop and removing the handle. The handles are reversible, so you can make an adze tool for chopping big blocks. I carry the professional in my pack, blade detached, with the handle in my avy probe bag.
