Anybody have any tips on washing this? I am worried after I throw it through the wash the fleece may not be as inviting, however, I don't want to stink the car up on the next ride home from the slopes...

Wash all your tech gear as such- and regularly! Use a non-detergent (granger's, nikwax) tech wash, use an extra rinse, and put it in the dryer for about 20-30 min on med (this helps re-charge the DWR). High quality fleece can handle a lot of washings, and your buddies can't handle you not.
