Im about 5'7'' 115 pounds 28 waiste would the small fit? or would it be too big? It seems like belt loops are a poor idea, who wants to wear a belt under a climbing harness, with a backpack on top of that?

You could try the women's version. I bought one and they are pretty slim.

I'm 135 with a 30 inch waist and the small fit well, even a tad on the snug side.

I have a 28 waist... bought a size small... waist too big... don't want to wear a belt... returned the pants. Shame though... I like them... they just don't fit me without a belt.
