Hi. I dont know anything about this stuff. I am wanting to get these skiis for my boyfriend for xmas. I was told to get him "wood core skiis" and it was recommended to get this particular ski. Is this ski a wood core?

Hey I guess this is a bit after xmas. but in case you or someone can benefit... these are the skis I decided on when starting tele. some of the reviews point out that is a little stiffer and narrower than a real powder ski which I made up for by going a little longer and I have found that while this might not be the best ski in any situation it performs well in all. I realize everyone skis a bit different but for me this is a great ski to switch to free-heelin. solid tight turns to rip through anything, light enough for skinning up, enough float for deeper stuff (if you go longer)

Thanks Kretzky. He skiis mostly East Coast, but makes his way to the West (Colorado a bit too). He is an incredible downhill skier and used to be an instructor. He used to do a bit of back country. He is eager to get back on the slopes more and is determined to master tele. We got some really nice tele boots in Steamboat last year, but I dont know what kind...and not sure if it matters. He is about 5' 10", prob 190

Yes, these ski's are woodcore. What ski's use should get your boyfriend varies greatly depending on his style of skiing/where he skis, skill level, and height & weight. A few of those details and the community here could really help direct you to a great pair of skis for him.
