I am buying this jacket for a friend... He wears a medium in tees and stuff and likes things to fit just right and not too lose. Would a large be too big? And if he doesnt like it can I return it?

I'd go for the medium if thats what he likes. In my experience, Arc'teryx has been pretty accurate for sizing. And yes, you can always return, worn or not, to BC. They're pretty awesome about stuff like that!
