They're perfect for that. I haven't had any problems using them in snow with wetness coming in or anything. They're also very sturdy and super-warm - definitely as warm as sheepskin. They're down-filled, with a plush fleece lining against your legs.

These would be great for that! They will keep you warm, provide plenty of traction and have a water resistant coating to keep you dry.
