I am 6'4" and 185 pounds and trying to figure out what size would fit better the L or XL? I t looks like from the picture that the side pockets are up higher on the jacket then normal and last question.
What would you recommend this jacket or the pull over jacket?

You would need a large at least. The large fits my torso just fine (I have a longer torso) but I am 3 inches shorter than you are. I am about 10lbs heavier and the jacket fits well with a fleece. the pockets are high to avoid a climbing harness but are way better than regular side pockets so dont worry about that. I would get the full zip. The half is nice but taking it on and off would be a pain.

Yes, pockets are higher to be above the harness/waistbelt line. I would recommend the large on you. We're the same height and youv'e got a few pound on me, but not much and I wore the large. The half zip/full zip is personal preference!
