Osprey Packs Kode 30 Backpack - 1600-2000cu in

Item #OSP0160 | 77 in Stock

I think I will be purchasing this bag. Just have a question...

By Ranked #862 - Winter Packs December 3, 2009

I think I will be purchasing this bag. Just have a question about sizing? I currently own the Aether 70 in a size L. Should I just assume the Kode 30 L is the bag for me? Or should I head into the valley here in Salt Lake from my current home at Alta to try some bags on? I'm assuming Osprey tries to use the same sizing for all their bags, regardless of winter bag or backpacking bag. Anyone have any insight on the matter?

Also, what size hydration reservoir would fit best in this guy? I currently have the 3L Camelbak one which came with my Camelbak Lobo which I use for mountain biking. I am thinking it may be too big for this guy, thinking about a 2L or a 1.5.. insight please! :-)

Thanks for both answers to my question. I am 6'2'' 175 lbs so I will definitely be going with the large. Can't wait to get this bad boy! Love Osprey bags, really excited for some snow too so I can use it.

I would say stick to the large. My brother has this pack in a large. He is 6'2 180lbs,and he has been lovin the fit.

Eric, I've got an exposure (the older version of the Variant) and the Argon and both are mediums. I went to the local shop and tried on the Kode and the medium was the best fit for me...so I'd recommend sticking with the large if it fits you! As for the bladder, not really sure. I'd guess the 3 would fit fine (a 2L definitely would) and you could always just put less water in it! Hope this helps.
