I was wondering if this particular bottle was made by Sigg after August 2008, when they assured the public that their bottles were now using BPA free liners, having retracted a false statement made just months earlier about the presence of the chemical.
Evidently, the bottles made after Aug 2008 have the new liner, and are safe(r) to use.
Please advise...

Sigg ended its voluntary replacement of old-liner bottles on October 31st, 2009. You may still be able to send it back to them, on your own dime since it is NOT a "recall", but you will not be guaranteed the same bottle in the exchange. HTH!

This bottle should have the new liner in it but if for some reason it doesn't Sigg will replace it for you with the new liner.
