I live in Buffalo, NY and I have to walk very long distances, in snow and rain... would the boots be a good investment if I wear them on a day to day basis? And would they help me stay warm and dry?

These boots are built to last. I've met people who've had their boots for over twenty years. No joke. I wear a ladies size nine in normal street shoes and I take a sorel size 8.
