I have a set of the 182's on order and am deciding where to mount my Freeride bindings... I'm 6'0", 160 lbs and ride powder about 80% of the time. I'm also planning to use these as my BC ski skinning etc. I'm coming from 183 Karhu Jaks from 2003 - pretty similar to today's Prophet 100. Those are mounted on the line and I find my tips diving in lighter powder, which irritates me. I would put them back -2 for the new ski, but I have been riding switch on the groomers and want to take that into powder this year... any suggestions?

Travis, thanks a ton for that answer. I've been mulling the decision between the SFB, Bibby, JJ, and maybe the ON3P Billy Goat for a while. My big worry was the 182 length was going to be a bit short for someone 190lbs. If they can float you then I'm sold. Thanks again!

I have last years and mounted them at the recommended line. I figure if Eric Pollard meant them to be mounted there, thats where I should go. As for how they ski. I still have to lean back a bit in the powder, but nothin too bad, they float so nice. I've also hit a couple nice pow lines switch, sooo sick, I felt like these skis helped me ski like Pollard himself. The skis were even great on the groomers or some bumps, I find that the recommended line works perfect for me. I'm 5'11" 200lbs if that helps. Congrats on your choice to go with what is iIMHO the best ski I've ever ridden.

Whoah your answer confused me, +5 from the traditional mount? What's traditional? I'm still fairly new to skiing, so explain as if I'm clueless, 'cause I am. About the only thing I'm aware of is 'chord centre'.

I would say +5 from the trad mount. That gives you more in the tip to stop tip dip, and still will be switch rideable in pow and on the groomed.
