My daughter will be travelling to the UK and Europe in January and it will be freezing . Would this type of coat be suitable for her or could you recommend somehting else ??

This would be a great choice. Fairly light weight jacket for traveling and VERY warm. Has some nice pockets for holding wallets, cameras, etc. needed when you are touring. The inside chest pocket is huge. I could easily fit a winter hat and my wallet in there with room to spare.
