What is the difference in the binding systems pictured on the mono-point and the bi-point? What are the benefits of each?

From an "Outside" article (found at http://outside.away.com/outside/gear/gearguy/200205/20020506.html) "...can be purchased with dual points or a mono point-the latter better on routes with small point placements where dual points may lever out the main placement." I hope that helps, cheers.
