Has anyone tried using a 2.55mm to 3.55mm adapter to make the phone function work with the iphone?

I would assume 3.5mm would work, Giro no longer makes their helmets with 2.5mm, I can only assume the rest of the audio helmets on the market will do the same, 2.5mm is only on the first gen iPhone, crackberry's and Iphones now all use 3.5mm. If anybody else knows differently speak up.
