I went with the size the chart recommended. Plenty of room for layering, awesome jacket overall. Just kinda bummed out that I missed the secret stash sale by a week.

Yo Webster. What kind of base layers you talking about? If you got bulky layers, then yes you should - but if you have pretty low profile layering, then don't buy up on size. This jacket has a nice long/trim, but baggy fit. The jacket is rad, just don't buy too big, cause the jacket is a perfect longer length to start.

I have not tried on the godfather in 2 years, but i doubt spyder changed the fit. its baggy and loose, your normal size will work fine
