I can't decide whether to choose from the Atom Lt Hoody or Hercules jacket for a mid-layer insulation piece for alpine touring. I get cold really easy and live in the northwest (near rainier).

Hey juy100402401, my friend "Rachel" owns the Lt Hoody by arcteryx and LOVES IT. I have stolen it a few times to run out to my car in some gnarly conditions and it is very nice. I have seen this jacket used in action at temperature around 10˚ F and if layered properly, you are bomber. Both of the jackets are "water resistant" according to Arcteryx, and this has never been a problem for friends, but in truly extreme squalls, throw your favorite shell over this and you are good to go! Another great thing about this jacket is the mobility factor, its easy to forget that you are even wearing a jacket when this thing is on. Its not restricting in the least. Good Luck!
