The insulation is listed as heatseeker. What exactly is this material? I'm looking for a jacket my daughter can wear to school. They go outside for recess until it drops to 0 degrees. Will this jacket work?

Hi Jen - This is a proprietary North Face synthetic fill - similar to something like Primaloft or Thinsulate. This jacket has a 100 gram insulation package which seems fine for the application that you describe, but if you are worried about your daughter staying warm, there are many other North Face jackets on the Backcountry site that have 200 grams is insulation or more (Blizzard, Shades Away), or you could look at one of the down jackets (Nuptse, Aconcagua, Moondoggie) which are all going to be very warm for just about any winter conditions. Hope this helps-
