as a heads-up... the outermost layer is treated to be a water shield, and that shields from many stains and slows abrasion marks.

It depends how much time you spend on the slopes. Lighter colors always collect dirt faster. I get out at least 3 times a week. Last season I nikwaxed my jacket two or three times. Don't ever use regular detergent for your outdoor gear. This system is easy to use and not really time consuming.
