yes the msr coffee mate will fit inside i have both the msr mug and the msr coffee mate filter so im pleased it will fit there is also a video on youtube of someone using both items type in msr mug coffee . ok

It won't. Currently it only works in round mugs. Hopefully there's a change coming...
