I have never worn Spyder gear before and I'm wondering how true they fit. I fluctuate between a 31" - 32" waist depending on brand and I'm inclined to go medium. My experience with other brands though is that they tend to run large or small. Any consistency either way with Spyder?

It's so true. Spyder is not consistent with the sizes. Most of the time they run large it seems. I have noticed that for casual jackets they fit more true to size then the winter coats and pants. I would say that chances are that its going fit bigger.

I tried on a bunch of Spyder pants and they fit differently. I tried this pant on and the large fit me perfectly (loose enough to move but not saggy). I fluctuate between 34 and 35" so for this pant you should definately go medium. And they are a little on the long side. I think this is a great pair of pants. The "black Stretch" color is not coal black like other pants; it is definately black but it has a subtle dark blue tone in there as well.
