How warm is the heatseeker insulation? I am looking to buy a nice ski jacket but not spend too much. Also, if the fabric is "like a denim" how waterproof is the jacket? The seams are taped, so i would assume it is reasonable...

Hi Colleen- Heatseeker is a proprietary insulation that The North Face uses that is comparable in warmth to something like Primaloft. The jacket is totally waterproof, and although the fabric does have a denim look to it, it is 100% synthetic and won't absorb moisture like non-synthetics. Hope this helps
