Hi Ana - I think you are going to find this pack a little small for a multi-pitch pack, it was really designed as more of a sport climbing pack. I would look at The North Face Fulcrum 35 pack for the type of use that you are talking about. I have found this pack to be perfect in size for multi-pitch days, and the fabric will hold up better as well. There is a dedicated rope pocket on the front which I find to be really nice on approaches and walk-offs. Hope this helps
