The hydration sleeve actually comes out and in combination with the sleeping pad straps becomes a hydration pack... Osprey innovation, i only wish there way a way to attach it to the lid/fanny pack to make a great day pack.

Yes, it does have a spot for it, but I have found that putting it under the hood of the pack is much easier to change when empty. When you close the hood it adds pressure to the bladder and helps the water come out easier, and you don't have to fight with all the gear in your pack to refill.

It has a sleeve for hydration systems. I find it awkward and lay my drom bag across the top of what I have packed and secure it with the internal load strap.
