my golden weighs 73lbs. and has a girth of 31 inches. will a medium size float cote suffice?

Hi there-I have a rescued 85 lb. Rottie and a 110 lb Swiss Mtn dog mix. Unfortunately, they both like the water but are both poor swimmers. The 85lb Rottie wears a large because I focused on her weight. I live on a lake and am a boater and I worried that if we ever capsized, the vest would help me to hold her up until help arrived. I would suggest the large size for your 73lb. Golden. Accidents happen and I am not sure if a 73lb dog could be fully supported by a medium vest. I think of a medium dog as a beagle. I am not sure if this helps you or not, I tend to err on the side of caution :)
