I'm debating between the Fraser rainshell and the Tofino bomber jacket, mainly looking for casual wear in and around town, but also to ensure comfort down to -20 Celsius. Would you recommend either or both of these jackets and would you prefer one over the other?

Be aware these jackets are just shells. They are not insulated. To be "comfortable" at -20 you'll need a pretty hefty insulated down or synthetic fill jacket. kinda like: http://www.backcountry.com/outdoorgear/Mountain-Hardwear-Sub-Zero-Down-Jacket-Mens/MHW0018M.html If you are truly sitting around at -20 then you'll need something warmer but this is fine for walking home from the bar.
