Has DakkaGuru ever used these skins? From his/her bio I see he is a snowboarder so probably has no business answering questions related to ski skins. Please what a sham.

The fact that the tips are self-aligning and reduce fumbling with gloves or worse, bare hands in potentially cold wind trying to get your skins straight before you drop in and the fact that they're a moving part and probably cost more to produce are where the extra money comes from. The same reason a Coke is more expensive at a gas station than it is in a grocery store- convenience. Do you like run on sentences? I do.
